My Manuscript Wish List®
I joined Little, Brown and Company in January 2024. I am excited to start building my list, and I welcome submissions of nonfiction and upmarket or literary fiction. In both areas, I am particularly drawn to stories that highlight diverse—defined the same way as We Need Diverse Books—voices and offer fresh perspectives on identity, community, and belonging.
I am interested in narratives that delve into the complexities of relationships, whether they involve found families, intergenerational dynamics, or the intricacies of female friendships (especially when they lean toward the obsessive and the darker, more intense edges of human connection). I always find myself drawn to social outliers, outcasts, heroines with ulterior motives, morally ambiguous characters, etc.
I am also open to fantasy and speculative fiction, i.e. alternate histories, magical realism, and imaginative futures that reflect contemporary social issues. Additionally, I’d love to see works that blend psychological fiction and underrepresented voices with elements of horror, exploring both personal fears and cultural lore.
In nonfiction, I am interested in curating diverse and thought-provoking narratives. I’m seeking submissions that center LGBTQ+ experiences, with a special focus on the asexuality spectrum, as well as works where race, class, gender, and sexuality converge in rich, nuanced ways.
